Ritt Henn "Timber"
Ritt's third album is an enhanced CD with 10 original tunes and a funky remake of the Isley Bros./AWB classic "Work to Do," plus the fun behind-the-scenes short film, "TIMBER: the trailer." Co-produced by bassist Paul Guzzone, it features Ritt on his trusty 1960s Danelectro longhorn and vocals, with Denny McDermott on drums, John Putnam on electric guitar and Joe Mennonna and Charlie Giordano on Rhodes and B-3, with a mini gospel choir to boot. Songs include: "Helen Keller and Me," "Superman is Sleeping In," and the slamming blues rocker, "House in the Country."
"A collection of rich, classic R and B arrangements and textures...by a bassist who thoroughly gets why the bass is such a cool thing to play. Ritt Henn's sound is one of the roundest, thickest, tubbiest, and deepest I've heard, and the mix proudly features it front and center...The whole thing just left me smiling." - Bryan Beller, Bass Player magazine
"Like John Hiatt and Randy Newman, Henn has a talent for taking an off-the-wall subject and creating a coherent, intriguing narrative with a sense of humor." - SKOPEmagazine.com
